In 1953 the Reno Ski Bowl utilized two chair lifts designed by Karl Ringer. The “Lower Lift” began at Mt. Rose Bowl,  across Mt. Rose Highway to the bottom of what is now the Slide Bowl. The Second  “Upper Lift” was unloaded at the top of Slide Mountain at 9650′. The Upper Lift was later updated with Riblet chairs and renamed the called the Pioneer Chair in 1971.
