Instructors

April Rivera
Hiiiiii, April here! I’m 25 years old and I’ve been snowboarding since I was 5!! Grew up doing it all in Sugarbush, Vermont. Happy to be a part of a women’s focused event, we need more girls in the industry!

Christine LeDuc
Hi, my name is Christine. I started snowboarding in my late 40’s thanks to my son. I’m passionate about women learning to snowboard because I want them to realize that you can learn anything you put your mind to at any age.

Darcy Anderson
Darcy Anderson started teaching skiing at 15 years old at Okemo mountain in Vermont. I moved to Tahoe after college and taught 8 years at alpine meadows. Now I have taught for 10 years at mt Rose. I love teaching women because we ski differently from men. Our bodies are different. I love giving women the encouragement they need to believe in themselves and recognize their successes.

Darla Smyth
For 18 years Mt Rose has been my playground bringing families together playing “follow the leader” and “tag”. Using the slopes we learn to ski, make plans and become responsible peers thru play. When not skiing I can be found on a local golf course or flyfishing.

Elizabeth Jones
One of my favorite things to do as a snowboard instructor is to empower women to try things they didn’t know they were capable of doing.

Kendall
(with Altitude Attitude)
This is Kendall’s fifth season teaching snowsports. They split their time instructing adult snowboarding and adaptive skiing and riding. Some of Kendall’s favorite things to do on a board are riding switch and carving. Beyond the snow they are a whitewater raft guide, outdoor educator, and food lover.

Lisa Maehler
Lisa Maehler returned to skiing in 2010 after a 13-year hiatus. She was a volunteer ski patroller at Snow Summit in Big Bear, CA prior to moving to Reno in 2015. She has instructed at Mt Rose Ski Tahoe for 10 seasons, and is a regular clinician for the Silver Ski and Ladies’ Day programs. During the off season, she enjoys traveling, RVing, hiking, backpacking, and supporting Reno and Tahoe’s fantastic local theatre.

Sasha Karapetrova
(with Altitude Attitude)
Sasha Karapetrova (she/they) began skiing park back in highschool on the icy tow rope hills of the midwest. Sasha has also spent countless summers at Mt. Hood skiing the volcano and coaching freestyle skiing from time to time. Now Sasha lives in the Eastern Sierra and has expanded to skiing big mountains and still loves a slushy soft park day. Outside of skiing Sasha studies environmental toxicology.

Sherrie Clay
Hi, my name is Sherrie, I am passionate about teaching beginners, particularly women. I want to give them a good foundation of skills in the wonderful snow sport of snowboarding. I started snowboarding at the tender age of 52 and I have not looked back. I hope you’ll join me.

Stacey Fite
Stacey is a North Tahoe based snow sports veteran with a 30 year legacy in competition, coaching and mountain operations. As a USASA National Halfpipe champion and snowcat operator, she brings a rare “360” degree perspective to the mountain understanding both the science of snow surfaces and the mechanics of the athlete. Having trained along side legendary figures in the industry, Stacey has developed a unique coaching philosophy that blends deep body mechanics with the psychology of an athletic mindset.
Stacey’s current passion is building a tighter-knit snow community through women-led initiatives and unique learning clinics. She’s a firm believer in the power of “snow unicorns uniting” to lift one another up and break down barriers. For Stacey, its about more than just technique — its about fostering a fun, fierce, and supportive environment where every rider feels the next level of flow state on the mountain.

Stephanie Wilkerson
(with Altitude Attitude)
Stephanie Wilkerson (she/her) has been teaching and coaching snowboarding since 2010. After 11 years as an instructor and coach at Mammoth Mountain, she founded her own company, Altitude, in 2021.
Driven by a passion for getting more women on snow and making snowboarding more welcoming for everyone, she launched Altitude Attitude in 2021—creating women’s events and progression programs around the world.
She currently splits her time between Niseko Japan, the US and the Southern Hemisphere, chasing winter and running snowboard tours and camps year round

Tara Moore
Tara is a Level 3 PSIA Instructor, Level 200 USSS Coach, and Skills Quest Evaluator.
She has been teaching and coaching at Mt. Rose since 1991.
Tara’s favorite part of teaching women’s clinics is witnessing the hard work the women put into their own improvement. “I love helping women find a sense of agency through sport and in the mountain environment—especially within this dedicated women’s community!”

Charles “Chuck” Harris
I’m passionate about teaching women to ski because, as an adult learner myself, I understand the power of building confidence on the mountain. I believe every slope belongs to women who choose to explore it, and I love helping them discover their strength and freedom through skiing.

Jackson Hogen
I’ve championed the cause of women-specific gear since I was a product manager at Salomon in the 1980’s. When I ran all equipment testing for Snow Country Magazine in the 1990’s, I always had an equal number of male and female testers in each category, which no other publication has done before or since. I’ve been a marketing/product manager at Head and designed Scott’s first line of skis. I’ve tested and reviewed thousands of skis. Since 2013 I’ve been analyzing the U.S. market and reporting on hundreds of skis for Realskiers.com.
