First-Time Lesson package

If you’ve never skied or snowboarded before but think it’s time to get out on the slopes, this is your starting point. Learn the basic skills to kick-start your passion for skiing or snowboarding with dedicated and professional instructors.

EXPANSIVE BEGINNER TERRAIN
THE ENCHANTED FOREST AND BEGINNER TERRAIN
The Enchanted Forest terrain at Mt. Rose is a fantastic place for newcomers to learn skiing or snowboarding. This dedicated area features wide, gentle slopes that make it easy to practice and build confidence without the pressure of more advanced skiers speeding by. Our beginner terrain is beautifully maintained, providing a perfect setting for newcomers to develop their skills while enjoying the stunning natural surroundings of the Sierras.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
RESERVATIONS & REGISTRATION
- Arrive EARLY – plan on 30 min or even an hour early. It’s always good practice to be ahead of the game. Getting through the Rental Line and having some extra time is less stressful as well
- The Lesson & Rental pickup is on the Lower Level of the Main Lodge. Enter through the front of the main lodge, make a right, and head downstairs.
- Redeem your Lesson package at the desk, and once you have been fitted for equipment, the Lesson meeting area is outside on show behind the lodge.
- Lesson times are set by online reservations.
Winter weather in the mountains can change quickly, so being appropriately dressed for the day is an important step to take before your visit. Here are some recommendations to ensure you have the right gear:
Need to cancel or move a reservation?
Please fill out the reservation refund form if you cannot make your lesson. Please request a REFUND in the notes. Then, to rebook*, buy a new lesson later. We ask that you do this 24 hours before lesson time to free up space in those lessons. If an unforeseen event prohibits your travel on the same day, please get in touch with Ski School by calling 775-849-0704, ext. 221, to inform them that you cannot attend the lesson.
*Please note that a service fee may be applied for rescheduling or cancelations that are not due to mountain closures.
