MT. Rose specialized Clinics
DUE TO IMPACTS FROM COVID-19, THE MT. ROSE silver ski clinics HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED, AND WILL NOT BE OFFERED (AT THIS TIME).
Mt. Rose is working within the guidelines of the CDC and Washoe County to offer skiing and snowboarding for the upcoming season. We hope to see these programs return in the future.
silver ski clinics
The Silver Ski Clinics are designed for wiser, more experienced skiers ages 50 and older who are at skill levels of lower-intermediate to advanced, interested in learning movement patterns used with modern ski and snowboard technology and/or improving their skiing/snowboarding technique. Clinics are available for alpine skiers, telemark skiers, and snowboarders.
Participants will leave with new skills, new friends, and a greater appreciation of the mountain. Instruction delivered by our PSIA certified staff will be augmented with video sessions and analysis to enhance knowledge of skiing progressions. Guest speakers will help participants get the best out of their equipment – boot fitting and ski tuning – and share insight into up and coming ski and boot design.
Weekly discussion topics include proper stance, upper and lower body separation, fitness, introduction to gate training, ski equipment “tech talks,” weather and snow conditions, and are subject to change due to weather. These topics are explored inside Lodgepole Cafe during the coffee session beginning at 9:00 am before working through discussion topics and skill progressions out on the snow from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm.
