*Ages 4 & 5 are restricted to the conveyor lifts only. Private Lessons (one on one) are the only way ages 4 & 5 may ride the lift in a lesson.

Looking for an all-day experience? Get a morning and an afternoon lesson for one rate. The lesson includes lunch with their class and instructor from 9 am to 3 pm.

INSTRUCTION | Lessons begin at 9 am, and we return to the lodge for a lunch break. |
LUNCH | Includes lunch with their instructors. Choice of Chicken Tenders, Pizza, or Turkey Sandwich with Milk, Chocolate Milk, Juice, or Soda. |
Need to cancel or move a reservation?
If you cannot make your lesson, please fill out the reservation refund form. Please request a REFUND in the notes. Then to rebook*, simply buy a new lesson at a later date. We ask that you do this 24 hours before lesson time to free up space in those lessons. If there is an unforeseen event prohibiting your travel on the same day, please contact Rosebuds by calling 775-849-0704, ext. 223 to let them know that you will not be able to make it to the lesson.
*Please note that there may be a service fee applied for rescheduling or cancelations that are not due to mountain closures.
What to expect
From beginners to little rippers – we strive to ensure that all kids have a blast on the snow and go home itching for more days on the mountain! The general level descriptions below help us to place your child in the appropriate class with other students of similar skills and abilities:
Children Ages 4-5 will ride the lift with an Instructor ( Private Lessons ONLY )
Children ages 6+ may ride the lift with another Adult Not always with an instructor.

Slope side parking
Our convenient slope-side parking lots are incredibly close to the lifts. Skip the exhaustive hikes through villages and mandatory shuttle rides.
Viewing deck at the main lodge

Our Kid’s Ski and Ride classes begin right next to the main lodge where parents are able to view their child’s progress and take photos from the large viewing deck and the on-snow pickup area.
THE MAgic Surface Lift

The Magic is a dual lane covered surface conveyor that gently carries students to the top of our Show Off beginner run. See the Magic Surface Lift in action.
Where to go for your lesson…
Check-in

The kid’s lesson check-in area is on the lower floor of the main lodge and is conveniently located near the adult lesson and rental desk for your one-stop drop-off and lesson needs.
Equipment Rentals

Each lesson comes complete with an all-day lift ticket and rental package. Kids are fitted for equipment upon arrival and are good for the entire day!
beginner terrain

Mt. Rose has a ton of beautiful beginner terrain. Lessons begin right outside the main lodge and progress to the Magic surface where students learn the basics of sliding, speed control, and stopping. Students who are proficient in these skills can ride the Wizard Chairlift which accesses 8 beginner runs in the Enchanted Forest
Pickup

Morning and afternoon classes begin and end behind the main lodge in our kid’s lesson area. Parents are encouraged to view the classes from the main deck or return from skiing 10 minutes before the lesson’s scheduled end time.
What to wear?
Winter weather in the mountains can change quickly, so being dressed properly for the day is an important step to take before your visit. Here are some recommendations to ensure you have the right gear:
