A little about our Ladies Clinic instructors:

Terry Bell – Terry joined the Mt. Rose staff 3 years ago after a 30 year stint at Sky Tavern as an instructor, trainer, and Executive Director.  Terry is a PSIA Level 2 Alpine Certified Instructor and Level 2 Children’s Specialist.  Her energy and enthusiasm is responsible for the Ladies Day’s Clinics success.

Linda Good – A Level III certified instructor, Linda started her teaching career in the Aurach bei Kitzbuhel Ski School in 1965.  She spent 25 years at Mammoth Mountain as well as stints at Chateau Tongariro Ski School in New Zealand, Boreal/Soda Springs Ski School, Northstar at Tahoe Ski School, and the last 8 winters at Mt. Rose.  Linda also helped to develop and start the Women’s Ski Clinics last season at Mt. Rose.

Dede Goodnight – Dede learned to ski right down the road at Sky Tavern when she was 12.  She later returned to Sky Tavern as an instructor and trainer.  She began instructing at Mt. Rose in 2001 and has since become certified by PSIA.  Dede has also received her Children’s Specialist II and Senior Specialist accreditation from PSIA. Dede says, “Teaching skiing is pure joy!”

Aimee Mason – Aimee started skiing when she was 8 years old and was instantly hooked. She began teaching at Mt. Rose in 2000. Since then she has earned her PSIA certification, her Children’s Specialist, and Senior Specialist Certifications. She loves to teach people of all ages to ski. “It’s rewarding to get people excited about skiing and help them improve their skills so that they have more fun.”

Tara Moore – Tara began her teaching career at Mt. Rose in 1991.  Since then she has become a Level 3 Certified Alpine Instructor through PSIA as well as a Level 200 Ski Coach.  Tara is currently the head coach of the J4-5 program of Team Falcons.

Anne Shrake – Anne started her teaching career with the Crested Butte Ski School back in the 70’s while racing for Western State College.  She returned to ski teaching last season at Mt. Rose and earned her PSIA Level 1 Certification. Anne says, “There is no right or wrong way to ski.  Some techniques utilize the equipment more efficiently and more gracefully than others.  My primary objective is that the skier enjoys their time on the snow and stays safe while do so.  How much more fun could a job be?!!!”

Shannon Balik – Shannon has worked at Mt. Rose since 1996. She is a level 3 certified instructor and examiner through AASI. She also has a level I alpine ski and telemark certification and her children’s specialist II.

Christine LeDuc – Christine has been snowboarding since 1995 and has been teaching at Mt. Rose for the last four years. “At 63, I bring experience, fun and enthusiasm.”
