It's all about fun!
Mt.
Rose Ladies Clinics are for women skiers, snowboarders
and telemarkers from low intermediate to advanced abilities
wanting to break barriers that prevent women from achieving
their best snow experiences. All classes are taught by PSIA
certified woman instructors.
When: Thursdays, beginning December 10, 2009.
Times: 10:00am & 12:00pm on Thursdays (90 minute sessions)
Cost: $10 per session; $100 unlimited.

Mt. Rose Season Pass Holders
Where: Program meets at the Main Lodge Ski School Lesson

A little about our Ladies Clinic instructors:
Terry Bell – Terry joined the Mt. Rose staff 3 years ago after
a 30 year stint at Sky Tavern as an instructor, trainer, and Executive
Director. Terry is a PSIA Level 2 Alpine Certified Instructor and
Level 2 Children’s Specialist. Her energy and enthusiasm is
responsible for the Ladies Day’s Clinics success.
Linda Good – A Level III certified instructor, Linda started
her teaching career in the Aurach bei Kitzbuhel Ski School in 1965. She
spent 25 years at Mammoth Mountain as well as stints at Chateau Tongariro
Ski School in New Zealand, Boreal/Soda Springs Ski School, Northstar at
Tahoe Ski School, and the last 8 winters at Mt. Rose. Linda also
helped to develop and start the Women’s Ski
Clinics last season at Mt. Rose.
Dede Goodnight – Dede learned to ski right down the road at Sky Tavern
when she was 12. She later returned to Sky Tavern as an instructor
and trainer. She began instructing at Mt. Rose in 2001 and has since
become certified by PSIA. Dede has also received her Children’s
Specialist II and Senior Specialist accreditation from PSIA. Dede says, “Teaching
skiing is pure joy!”
Aimee Mason – Aimee started
skiing when she was 8 years old and was instantly hooked. She began teaching
at Mt. Rose in 2000. Since then she has earned her PSIA
certification, her Children’s
Specialist, and Senior Specialist Certifications. She
loves to teach people of all ages to ski. “It’s
rewarding to get people excited about skiing and help
them improve their skills so that they have more fun.”
Tara Moore – Tara began her teaching career at Mt. Rose in 1991. Since
then she has become a Level 3 Certified Alpine Instructor through PSIA
as well as a Level 200 Ski Coach. Tara is currently the head coach
of the J4-5 program of Team Falcons.
Anne Shrake – Anne started her teaching career with the Crested Butte
Ski School back in the 70’s while racing for Western State College. She
returned to ski teaching last season at Mt. Rose and earned her PSIA Level
1 Certification. Anne says, “There is no right or wrong way to ski. Some
techniques utilize the equipment more efficiently and more gracefully than
others. My primary objective is that the skier enjoys their time
on the snow and stays safe while do so. How much more fun could a
job be?!!!”
Shannon Balik – Shannon has worked at
Mt. Rose since 1996. She is a level 3 certified instructor and examiner
through AASI. She also has a level I alpine ski and telemark
certification and her children’s
specialist II.
Christine LeDuc – Christine has been snowboarding since
1995 and has been teaching at Mt. Rose for the last four
years. “At
63, I bring experience, fun and enthusiasm.”
Kelly Howie – Kelly has been skiing since 1989 and
snowboarding since 1996. She has been teaching since
2008 here at Mt. Rose with a level I certification in
snowboarding and is currently working on a level I certification in
telemark for this spring.
